The West Fork airstrip is privately owned and maintained but is open for public use. At 2600’ in length and an elevation of 4247’ and surrounded by higher terrain, it can seem intimidating, but gives us a call and I’ll report on the best arrival procedures for your aircraft. The airstrip is adjacent to the Lodge and a short walk across the runway from the parking area and you have arrived.
The July/August 2008 issue of Pilot Getaways Magazine featured the West Fork Lodge on pages 50-55. Their magazine is top quality and provides info on new, and some old, places two discover with your aircraft. Their web address is www.pilotgetaways.com and both John or George are flying encyclopedias on destinations. Check them out.

TEX’S HANGAR TALK Finally got around to do some updating of this section. Today June 6th we had 3 planes in for breakfast. Two C-170's and a Maule M-7 came to say hi and sit on the deck for their meal. It hit 80 degrees this afternoon and now it is thundering with a few sprinkles hitting the ground. The runway is in really great shape. The grass is green and growing fast. It sure makes it look pretty this time of year. Thanks for checking in but it looks like it's time to go cook. We're open Friday, Saturday and Sunday's at 3:00 p.m. for the local drive in trade. Don't forget to go vote on Tuesday, TEX |
